Hardware, software, network, and operating system info is collected and presented to you in a simple interface by Aspia, a free application for Windows. You can simply browse through the information Aspia presents, or you can generate a report that you can then share with others. The choice is up to you.

To get started with Aspia, you must download a 1.4MB archive and run the executable inside. A setup wizard will ask you to choose between a Standard installation (installs the application for all PC users) and Portable installation (all configuration data is stored in the application folder and no info is written to the Registry). Pick Standard installation and you will get to choose between a Full, Lite, and Custom installation. A Full installation includes the main program for x32 and 64-bit Windows editions, language files, help files, icon themes, and device databases.

Aspia’s interface is divided into two panes. The pane to the left groups all the information collected by Aspia into 5 main categories: Summary info, Hardware, Software, Network, and Operating System. Pick an entry from the left and more info will be presented in the pane to the right.

When you launch the Aspia application, it will go to work and collect all the information about your system. By default it starts out with Summary Information. Click through the other categories in the left hand pane on the application’s interface to view all the info Aspia can provide about your system. If you want to, you can save a report. Save the current page, all categories, or selected categories as HTML, RTF, INI, CSV, or TXT.

From the application’s settings menu you can set it up so an Aspia icon will be displayed in the system tray and you can set it up so that it will display sensor icons for your processor and hard disk in the system tray.

As mentioned above, Aspia is a free tool. Use it for free to gather and view information about your system.

As it’s free, easy to use, and provides a wealth of information about your machine, Aspia is well worth a try.

Pros

32 and 64-bit Windows editions are supported. Choose between a Standard and a Portable installation. Aspia collects and presents a wealth of information about your system. You can save reports as HTML, RTF, INI, CSV, or TXT. Aspia is freeware.

Cons

None that I could think of.
